Poor Logic

In today’s NYT, a story on James Baker and the Iraq Study Group, the conclusion:

But foreign policy experts and politicians alike say there is no miracle elixir for Iraq; if there were, someone would have thought of it already.

This seems to indicate that there is no room for further creativity, no space in which a new idea could emerge.  While it’s true that the problem is non-trivial (otherwise it would be dealt with already), there is always the possibility of a new idea for a solution.
